1983年8月-1994年10月:于青岛海洋地质研究所工作, 助理研究员, 从事黄河三角洲沉积动力学调查与研究
1994年10月-1997年12月:于青岛海洋地质研究所工作,破格晋升副研究员,从事中国-荷兰黄河三角洲沉积过程调查与研究计划。
1995年-2000年:于青岛海洋地质研究所工作,任环境地质研究室副主任(1998年起主持工作)。
1997年12月-2000年10月:于青岛海洋地质研究所工作,破格晋升研究员。主持126、215海洋地质调查与研究课题工作。
2000年11月-现在:于中国海洋大学海洋地球科学学院工作,二级教授,博士生导师,从事海洋地质教育与科研。
2002年3月到2005年3月:任学院副院长,负责科研工作。

· 学科方向

海洋沉积、海洋工程环境、海洋古气候古环境

· 应用研究

海洋沉积与环境变化方向:主要利用遥感、现场沉积动力观测和室内数值模拟、沉积记录测试等技术手段,开展颗粒物“源-汇”效应和末次盛冰期以来高分辨率海洋环境演变与气候变化研究。海底资源与工程方向:在全球变化、沉积动力、层序地层和工程地质等理论指导下,利用高分辨率地形和地层探测系统以及原位观测技术,围绕国家海洋资源重大需求,开展海底资源勘探与评价、海底工程环境和地质灾害研究。

· 近期研究兴趣

(1)极端天气事件下沉积动力过程:围绕渤海寒潮大风和东海台风过程,开展监测和沉积动力过程和机制研究。
(2)海岸工程环境:围绕海滩和黄河三角洲大坝等开展安全评价和防护措施研究,服务于地方和企业发展。
(3)边缘海古气候古环境:以中国边缘海为基础,开展东亚季风气候与海洋环境演变的沉积记录研究,解释东亚气候和全球变化事件对海洋的影响与机制。
